New for 2017
On October 3, 2016 J.P. Mascaro was awarded the upcoming sanitation & recycling contract, effective January 1, 2017. J.P. Mascaro was the lowest and responsible bidder. The contract term is for 3 years, terminating in 2019.
The Borough has worked hard to provide residents with additional services in this upcoming contract. Additional services included are; 1) white goods (refrigerators, etc.) pickup once annually, 2) yard waste/debris pickup in Spring and Fall seasons, 3) recycling is now picked up weekly with regular trash, and 4) J.P. Mascaro is offering 96-gallon carts to residents upon request.
The Borough wants to stress the importance of recycling. Under this new contract, recycling has become easier! We have single stream recycling, which means you can combine all recycling waste into one container for pickup. The more the Borough recycles will translate to increased savings for residents because sanitation rates are based, in part, on the amount of waste tonnage produced. The more waste that is produced means a higher trash bill. So we must get better as a community to recycle more to control future contract costs.
