The Borough of Bath is a member of the Nazareth Area Council of Governments (NAZCOG). State law requires that municipalities have a comprehensive community plan, which is revised from time-to-time, as development progresses. Costs to complete such plans can be burdensome to a single municipality. Pennsylvania municipalities can consolidate efforts and form a multi-municipal comprehensive plans, a preferred method in cost sharing that eases the financial burden spread across a broader area. The first Comprehensive Plan for the NAZCOG was adopted in 2007. Plans are typically revised every 10 years or so.

The current Comprehensive Plan update by the NAZCOG (including the Borough’s of Bath, Chapman, Nazareth, Stockertown, Tatamy, and the Townships of Bushkill, Lower Nazareth, Moore, and Upper Nazareth) was guided with the thankful assistance of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission. The new 2022 Comprehensive Plan is complete and was adopted by member municipalities September 2022.
